Trauma Info Pages, David Baldwin
http://www.trauma-pages.com/
dvb@trauma-pages.com
"One of the absolute best Trauma Information Sites
available with hundreds of
links, incredibly well done," according to Peter Shefler. Searchable. Articles.
"These Trauma Pages focus primarily on emotional
trauma and traumatic stress, including PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder), whether
following individual traumatic experience(s) or a large-scale disaster. New information is
added to this site about once a month. The purpose of this award winning site is to provide
information for clinicians and researchers in the traumatic-stress field. Specifically, my
interests here include both clinical and research aspects of trauma responses and their
resolution. For example:
- What goes on biologically in the brain during traumatic
experience and its resolution?
- Which psychotherapeutic procedures are most effective for
which patients with traumatic symptoms, and why?
- How can we best measure clinical efficacy and treatment
outcome for trauma survivor populations?
Supportive resources supplement the more academic or
research information of interest to clinicians, researchers, and students. I do realize
that these are not mutually exclusive groups. "

together for mutual grass roots support as well as opportunities for free contact with
professionals. This section is run out of Tennessee, USA.
"The second part of the site is run out of
Victoria, B.C., Canada and is devoted entirely to caregivers and others with an interest
in understanding the anxiety diseases and how they may be of assistance to the person with
them (and not burn out doing it). Within the next week it will also offer ways of
mutual contact between caregivers as well as professionals. This section is found at

The Child Survivor of Traumatic Stress
http://www.ummed.edu/pub/k/kfletche/kidsurv.html
Kenneth.Fletcher@banyan.ummed.edu
This web site provides access to selected articles from
the The CHILD SURVIVOR of Traumatic Stress, a newsletter for professionals who
have dealings with traumatized children. As most people in this field are aware,
traumatized children have generally been ignored by researchers, theorists, and even
practitioners until recently. The CHILD SURVIVOR of Traumatic Stress is intended
to serve as a forum for those of us who are concerned with gaining a better understanding
of the impact of traumatic experience on children.
The articles in this web site are selections from earlier issues of the
newsletter. Some of the articles appear just as they did originally. Some have been
abbreviated. Others have been updated or expanded upon.
The newsletter is currently published annually and distributed free to
interested professionals. If you are a professional with an interest in
traumatized children and would like a copy of future editions, just contact me via the
above e- mail address, regular mail, or telephone. I will add you to my mailing list.

Clinician and researcher resources on PTSD, especially
related to to military veterans disaster survivors and workers.
There is a great deal of research and clinical activity ongoing
at the National Center sites, including the Executive Division here in White River
Junction VT, the Behavioral Sciences and Women's Health Sciences Divisions in Boston, the
Clinical Neurosciences and Evaluation Divisions in West Haven, CT, the Education and
Clinical Lab Division in Menlo Park CA, and the Pacific Islands Division in
Honolulu. You will find listings of NC personnel and a summary of
NC scientific, educational, and clinical activities (from the NC Annual Report) on the
website, as well as job openings and information for patient/public education.
Projects are ongoing to determine how best to conceptualize
trauma, the neurobiology and longitidunal course of traumatic stress responses and PTSD,
the relationship of health and PTSD, and preventive and ameliorative interventions in
medical, community, and mental health sites for trauma surivors from childhood to older
adulthood (e.g., trauma-focus group therapy
for veterans; psychophysiological assessment of potential markers for PTSD, HPAA activity,
and immunocompetence; primary care screening for acute pediatric PTSD and chronic adult
PTSD; CBT and social problem solving therapy for women survivors of childhood sexual
abuse; PTSD comorbidities of children [e.g., ADHD, ODD] and adults [e.g., depression,
substance abuse, panic disorder].
While I don't believe any project has categorized PTSD subtypes,
studies of the potential dimensions of trauma exposure (e.g., single incident, cumulative,
toxic exposure, malevolent environment) and PTSD (e.g., complex, subthreshold, associated
features) are ongoing by NC personnel and our colleagues.
