The Design of the Outline

The Directory divides into two primary areas: Topical and General. Some additional specialized topics (such as Search & Research Tools) also live at the top level in the hierarchy.

The General area holds resources that are not focused by topic, and so they are divided by their function. News and Timely Reading Zones is an example. Once you are in a functional category there, it divides into broad topical categories, such as Clinical.

Back to the top level, the Topical area holds resources that are focused on a specific subject. It's carefully organized into subtopics to make drilling down easier. In the Tips area, the topic "Drilling, Searching, and Getting the Most from The PsychIN™ Directory" gives good pointers.

Of course, you can always use the search box. The Tips area has help for combining search with features the outline makes possible.
