I have recently relocated from Denver to San Diego, California, but I'm a California native. I provide in-person and telephone consultation.
Many of my clients, by comparison, say "No one has explained it like this before!" or "Now I see the connections!"
I have fulfilled various "real-world" roles, including corporate environments that sometimes involved dealing with high-stakes situations complete with criminal fraud and politics. But I am guided by many years of contemplative practice, and I am very comfortable with altered states and their role in our lives. This enhances my work with methods that help bring our conscious and intuitive sides into alignment.

A thank-you from a person who used my communication services for a loved one with a serious, urgent condition, and an insurance company that was refusing to pay for the help that she needed:
"The most important thing, the surgery that she needed, was approved ahead of time, even though they'd previously told us flatly that there was no way that they'd approve it. The advice was a GREAT help."
- Mike O.
Education, training, experience
Having just returned to California, my license is pending for marriage family therapy. I am a member of the American Counseling Association member and have experience in the mental health and social services fields dating back to 1975.
My training includes Ericksonian communication and hypnosis with John Grinder, EMDR, level 2 (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with Francine Shapiro, Ph.D., Body Integrative Psychotherapy with Jack Rosenberg, Ph.D., TFT, level 2 (Thought Field Therapy) with Gary Craig, EFT level 2, (Emotional Freedom Technique), and solution-focused psychotherapy, among other things. I've been involved in human services and counseling since 1975.
I have a masters degree in counseling psychology, and a bachelors degree in social work.
Media offerings
I offer a resource area on attention deficit disorder that includes current resources and fresh understanding.
I maintain this award-winning website, PsychInnovations.com, offering articles, media and resources for mental health professionals and the public. It includes my Hypertext Guide to Inner Work Processes that helps people understand and use visualization, energy work, and mental processes for practical purposes. It also offers the PsychIn™ Directory, emphasizing free sources of continuing education, news and research tools for mental health professionals.
I developed the first recording used for EMDR-inspired processes, now called UpLevel. It has received much praise for its sound as well as it's gentle, yet compelling stereo sweep (bilateral sound). This and other recordings I developed are currently used around the world. They were used for stress-reduction by a counseling center helping persons affected by the Columbine High School tragedy, and other organizations including the University of Arkansas for Medical Science. They are offered by the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs and Amazon.com.
