Author:
Robert A. Yourell
Summary:

This is important for society, given the high rates of unemployment, homelessness, brain injury, suicide, and other problems our veterans are experiencing.

Despite the numerous studies, the opinions of too many therapists and clients for it to be a cult phenom, and acceptance by all major insurance carriers, TRICARE ("the health care program serving active duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, retirees, families and survivors worldwide") seemed to be in no hurry to accept EMDR.

Gerald French and Dr. Chrys Harris. Editor: Professor Charles Figley, Ph.D.

Summary:

This 1998 piece introduces a training manual that doesn't appear to be available now. There is some interesting background provided by Shefler through an interview-style approach here. Please post if you have any recommendations or comments on TIR.

Dr. Gallo offers this article to help readers understand energy psychology and it's use in psychotherapy.

Author:

Fred Gallo, Ph.D.

Summary:

What are the experiences and theories that make energy psychology so popular and controversial? Get the answers and a first-hand experience with self-applied energy psychology in this article.

This article conveys the spirit and opinions of a leading practitioner and innovator in this field. It's older, but appears to match current views in this approach.

I don't accept the theories of energy psychology, but I do cover alternative theories and practices with the objective of understanding how they work (when they do), and how they affect the field of psychotherapy. - R. Yourell
