Sub title:
A Brief Overview of the History and Controversies
Summary:
I have been following this subject since the early 1990s, and have been involved as a therapist, a client, and in many discussions. I think you will appreciate my objectivity, because I am aware of the ways false beliefs take hold, as well as the evidence that supports many of the claims for these rapid-acting therapies.
From a scientific thinker (not a knee-jerk skeptic): The techniques that get quick drops in anxiety and other emotional reactions, and produce lasting change, why they work, and the controversies. We'll cover the good kind of desensitization and the problems with energy psychology, among other things.
