RESOURCES (Organizations, Collections)

This is our first effort at guiding you to tele-mental health resources that are the best point to launch your research from. (Sorry the links aren't live yet, but they're there!) This list also includes various services and sites that mental health professionals need to be familiar with, such as Second Life and Facebook.

In case you are just getting started with this topic, here is a brief introduction to the subject from one of the continuing education courses I prepared:

INTRODUCTION

This section is under development. Remember that there are additional directory areas that you can find by searching on topics such as mental illness.

Support for the Public

Schizophrenic.com (Deep Health Network)

This includes professional mental health discussion forums, especially for psychotherapists, as well as some broad catalogs of lists for mental health professionals. I included a couple very broad catalogs such as Yahoo Groups as well.

There are instructions for joining the old-fashioned listservs, and there is a long list of topical ones (but I can't vouch for them at this point).

This section includes resources for psychotherapists and other mental health professionals relating to trauma and treatment of conditions such as post traumatic stress disorder.

There are fascinating discussions going on regarding practice and research in EMDR.

Sites with resources for mental health professionals on borderline personality disorder (BPD) including free journal articles.

Association for Meridian Energy Therapies, Trainings

Fee-based live trainings, primarily. May also have reading, other announcements. (11/04)

Of the countless CEU providers, I'm listing some here that have a special feature, such as low prices or even free CEUs, or are major providers. Also, I'm including some that have my courses. We have warnings about a few providers. Send any recommendations or comments. We love getting updates.
